Discovering a close family member was experiencing a high risk pregnancy and would require a caesarean section, I was quick to research the history of this surgery. Upon reading this information, I started to feel fear for the safety of both the mother and unborn child. My brain started to run off with the “what ifs” and I realized that a family tree could easily be cut off from the roots, thus severed from future growth and additional limbs. Many women worldwide have C-sections and the operations have fewer risks than in the past.
